I hope you all had a wonderful Shavuot. Last week, we had a full week at Maayan. Students are finishing the year in a strong way, working and growing together.
Second grade students worked in Mayim class on a project together.
In Mayim, students made mini Torahs with Hebrew letters written inside.
Mrs. Gore filled in for Mrs. Shenk while she was sick and students played a game identifying Hebrew letters and sounds.
In Mrs. Kalter’s class, students read aloud together and discussed meanings, brainstorming ideas as a class.
In Mrs. Bagley’s class, students worked on adding and subtracting three-digit numbers.
In Rabbi Kalter’s class, students went around the room describing different reasons why people eat dairy on Shavuot.
In Mrs. Depew’s class, students worked together in groups to solve math problems, and then each student “taught” a problem to the class.
In Dr. B.’s class, the girls worked together on data collection in small groups.
In Mr. Wilson’s class, the girls made paper cup telephones and determined what type of rope or cup works best.
The Yachad girls worked on translating the Ten Commandments with Rabbi Skolnik.
In Rabbi Skolnik’s class, the boys worked on reading and translating together as a class.
The Yachad boys worked on geography and characterization with Frontier Charter Academy.
